On George Mason University's Fairfax Campus, Nottoway River Lane will be partially closed between Lot A and Patriot Circle on Wednesday, Oct. 9, between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. Traffic on Patriot Circle will not be able to use Nottoway River Lane to access Lots A and C or Braddock Road. Drivers will need to use other exits from campus, such as Roanoke River Road by EagleBank Arena and Lot K.

On the evening of Thursday, Sept. 5, increased traffic is expected on and around the Fairfax Campus, as well as an increase in on-campus parking, due to a concert at EagleBank Arena. The concert starts at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. On Friday, Sept. 13, alternating one lane closures will be in effect on Patriot Circle between Campus Drive and Lot I for road repairs.

Parking and traffic closures will occur on the Fairfax Campus from Wednesday, Aug. 21, to Sunday, Aug. 25, to facilitate the move-in of nearly 6,000 residential students.

A section of Patriot Circle between Campus Drive and Aquia Creek Lane will be closed from Monday, July 22, through Sunday, July 28, so a culvert can be installed to address flooding issues along that part of the road and in Lot I. The sidewalk along this section of Patriot Circle will also be closed.

This summer, parking areas on George Mason University's Fairfax Campus will be milled, paved, and striped. The following schedule is subject to change based on weather and existing conditions. Signage about closures will be posted at parking lot entrances.

George Mason University Spring Commencement will take place on Thursday, May 9, at 10 a.m. in EagleBank Arena on the Fairfax Campus. Separate Degree Celebrations will honor school and college graduates from Thursday, May 9, through Saturday, May 11, at the Fairfax Campus and Mason Square. Expect heavy traffic on and around campus.

Heavy traffic is expected on the Fairfax Campus for regional high school graduation ceremonies at EagleBank Arena from May 29 through June 18. EagleBank will host up to three ceremonies on many days, so traffic will be entering and exiting campus from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. Please allow extra travel time on and near campus.

Contractors for Fairfax County will complete a routine survey of sewer lines on Mason’s Fairfax Campus over the next four weeks. This will require intermittent road and sidewalk closures as crews move around campus.

Helicopter landings are scheduled at the West Campus parking lot on the Fairfax Campus on two upcoming dates, as part of ROTC training exercises.

The elevator in the Aquatic and Fitness Center (AFC) at George Mason University is currently out of service for repairs. These repairs are expected to continue for at least 30 days.
