Parking and Traffic Advisory: Fairfax Campus

Body

This week, two major weeknight events at EagleBank Arena will have significant impacts on parking and traffic on and around the Fairfax Campus.

On Tuesday, Nov. 8, a concert with over 5,000 expected attendees begins at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m. Shenandoah Deck (Levels 4–5) will be open to overflow general permit and event parking beginning at 4 p.m. Vehicles should enter the garage at the Level 3 permit entrance. If you park in the Level 1 gated visitor area, you will be required to pay the posted parking fee to exit. The concert is scheduled to end at 10 p.m. All overflow event and permit parking in Shenandoah Deck should exit by 11 p.m.

On Friday, Nov. 11, the Mason men’s basketball home opener vs. Longwood will be held at EagleBank Arena at 7 p.m., with a tailgate in Lot L from 3:30–6 p.m. Lot L will be closed starting at 11 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10. For details about the tailgate, go to si.gmu.edu/tailgating. For information about men’s and women’s basketball schedules, visit gomason.com

During arena events, drivers should allow additional travel time to and from campus and avoid the southern end of campus near EagleBank Arena and Braddock Road. Extra time should be allowed if using Mason Shuttles.

Those wishing to avoid arena parking and traffic impacts should consider parking in Rappahannock Deck on the north end of campus and utilize University Drive and Roberts Road to access and leave campus.

Additionally, the Center for the Arts fall schedule continues with many shows throughout the month, using parking in Lot K and in Mason Pond Deck. For information, visit cfa.gmu.edu.
