Robinson Hall Replacement
Week of August 5:
- Complete installation of underground mechanical and plumbing work on north end of building footprint.
- Complete slab on grade for lowest level of new building on north end of building footprint.
- Continue to backfill foundation walls around east and south sides of the new building.
- Procurement of materials for full scale building envelop mock up.
- Continue steel erection on moving south and then up to floor two and repeat starting at north end of building and moving south for six floors.
- Restore site work including pavers between Fenwick and job site and reinstall fencing in location that will remain for the fall semester along the southeast corner of the job site.
- Offsite work is progressing on coordination and inspections of pre-fabricated electrical rooms that are being fabricated offsite in a warehouse facility in southern Virginia.
Week of August 12:
- Complete backfill of foundation walls around east and south sides of the new building.
- Procurement of materials for full scale building envelop mock up.
- Continue steel erection on moving south and then up to floor two and repeat starting at north end of building and moving south for six floors.
- Offsite work is progressing on coordination and inspections of pre-fabricated electrical rooms that are being fabricated offsite in a warehouse facility in southern Virginia.
- Begin installation of elevated underfloor mechanical and electrical and telecom utilities.
Utility Infrastructure Project
Week of August 5:
- Continue site restoration in Phase 1A (Aquia Creek Lane), 1B (Johnson Center South Plaza), and 2B (West Building) areas.
- Continue hardscape and landscape punch list in Phase 1 (Aquia Creek Lane, Johnson Center South Plaza, EagleBank Arena) and 2 (Music/Theatre, West Building) areas.
- Finalize re-install of site lighting in Phase 1 and 2 areas.
- Continue work to improve high-temperature hot water tunnel in Phase 3 areas (Wilkins Plaza extension, from clock to Southside Plaza).
- Excavate for new underground electrical and telecom for future Wilkins Plaza event power, light poles, and Wi-Fi.
- Pipe delivery continues for Phase 4 (Southside east to Central Heating and Cooling Plant), 5 (Planetary and Exploratory extension) and 6 (Commons housing) areas.
- Continue trenching in Phase 4 areas.
- Complete tunnel work in Phase 6 areas (near Commonwealth and Dominion Halls).
- Rivanna River Road is closed to two-way traffic through August 16.
Week of August 12:
- Continue site restoration in Phase 1A (Aquia Creek Lane), 1B (Johnson Center South Plaza), and 2B (West Building) areas.

- By August 16 reopen path on south side of Phase 3 near David King Hall for fall semester; future overnight closures will be required to complete the final paver installations.
- Continue to excavate for new underground electrical and telecom for future Wilkins Plaza event power, light poles, and Wi-Fi.
- Pipe delivery continues for Phase 4 (Southside east to Central Heating and Cooling Plant), 5 (Planetary and Exploratory extension) and 6 (Commons housing) areas.
- Continue trenching and begin pipe installation in Phase 4 areas.
- Rivanna River Road is closed to two-way traffic through August 16.
